Quick start
Start using Nebu in 60 seconds.
Install, pick a goal, scan the first barcode. The rest of the guide answers the common "so what does this mean?" questions.
1 · Install
- Requires iPhone on iOS 17 or later.
- Search "Nebu" on the App Store and install (signed by Appnor).
- Language is auto-detected on first launch and can be switched to English or Turkish at any time.
2 · First launch
The app runs a 10-step intro. Every screen can be skipped, but don't skip these two:
- Goal selection: weight management, muscle gain, heart health, diabetes, cholesterol, pregnancy, general health.
- Allergy / restriction selection: gluten, lactose, peanut, seafood, vegan, low sodium, hypertension, keto, diabetes.
These two choices personalize the scoring engine. Skip them and Nebu shows a general score — you can update them from Profile anytime.
3 · First scan
- Open the Scan tab in the bottom bar.
- Grant camera permission — active only while reading a barcode.
- Align the product's barcode inside the frame (EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-E, Code 128 supported).
- A short haptic tap → result appears.
4 · Reading the result
The product screen has three layers:
A single 0–100 number. The green/yellow/red band tells you the category.
Sugar, fiber, salt, saturated fat, additives — one short "what's the state" line each.
A "is this good for you?" sentence based on your goal — e.g. high-sugar warning on a weight-loss goal.
A red banner at the top if one of your declared restrictions is violated.
5 · Personalize
Change any of these from Profile → Health Profile at any time:
- Goal — each goal uses different weights (e.g. sugar is penalized harder for diabetes).
- Diet style — omnivore / flexitarian / vegetarian / vegan.
- Age — metabolic adjustment.
- Allergies and restrictions — triggers a "hard block" behavior on matching products.
6 · Favorites & history
- Tap the heart icon in the top-right of the product card to favorite it.
- Jump to the full favorites list from the "Favorites" card on Home.
- History holds the last 100 scans; pull-to-refresh on the tab.
- Long-press an item to delete individually; use Settings → Data Management for bulk deletion.
7 · Mini score game
The Game tab has five modes: mixed, score, sugar, additives, Nutri-Score. Each round shows two products; you guess which is better. Accuracy is revealed at the end of the round.
Goal: sharpen label-reading intuition, move beyond memorization and see which component actually matters how much.
8 · Settings
- Appearance — system / light / dark.
- Language — system / English / Turkish. Switches instantly.
- Region — Open Food Facts market endpoint (TR vs. global).
- Data Management — cache, history, favorites cleared with one tap.
- Account — sign in / sign out / Delete Account.
9 · Troubleshooting
Check iOS Settings → Nebu → Camera permission is on.
Not yet in the Open Food Facts database. Normal if you've tried the barcode twice.
Check whether your goal and restrictions in Profile line up with the score you expected.
Firebase requires a recent sign-in before deletion. Sign out, sign back in, tap Delete Account again.
