What the app is — and is not — clearly spelled out.
Nebu is a decision-support tool. It does not replace medical advice or the label on the package. Using the app means you accept the terms below, and all responsibility rests with the user.
Use at your own risk — no liability is accepted, under any circumstance.
The Nebu application makes no warranty and accepts no liability regarding the accuracy, timeliness, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of the scores, interpretations, warnings, or product information it displays. Every decision made based on information from the application is solely the USER's responsibility.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nebu, Appnor, and the associated developers shall not be liable for any damages arising from use of the application, from decisions made through the application, or from third-party data sources (including Open Food Facts) — whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential, including but not limited to allergic reactions, health issues, medical conditions, financial loss, data loss, or purchasing decisions.
The application is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". It does not constitute medical advice, legal opinion, or professional consultation. For any health, allergy, nutrition, or medical matter, you MUST consult a qualified professional. Your continued use of the application indicates that you have fully read, understood, and accepted these terms.
1 · Scope of service
Nebu is an iOS application that recognizes packaged food via barcode scanning and provides a short health-oriented commentary based on the goal you pick. The scores, warnings, and summaries are for information only; they are not a medical diagnosis, nutritional prescription, or product certification.
- Recognizes barcodes and fetches product data via Open Food Facts.
- Interprets products using Nutri-Score, additives, fiber, sugar, salt, and similar signals.
- Produces a personalized score based on your goals and restrictions.
- Keeps your history, favorites, and mini-game state on device.
2 · Account and access
The core features of the app work as a guest. Signing in with Apple or Google is optional; its purpose is session handling and a stable user identifier for future sync features.
- Only you are authorized to use your account; do not share credentials.
- You can permanently delete your account from inside the app at any time (Profile → Delete Account).
- If you are under 18, you are encouraged to use the app as a guest without creating an account.
3 · Medical disclaimer
Nebu is not a doctor, dietitian, or healthcare institution. For allergies, pregnancy, diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, eating disorders, or any other medical condition, you must not make critical decisions based on the app's output.
A score, warning, or "not suitable" label shown by the app does not mean a product is absolutely safe or unsafe for you. Read the official information on the packaging and consult a healthcare professional when needed. Even with that guidance the developer cannot be held liable for outcomes arising from how you choose to use the app.
4 · Data accuracy
Product data comes from the Open Food Facts community database. Nebu does not directly control this data and makes no guarantee about its accuracy.
- Product packaging may have been updated after the database; the app may lag.
- Some products have missing nutrition or additive fields; the app flags this.
- Manufacturer formula changes may reach the database with a delay.
- In case of conflict, the packaging and official manufacturer information take priority.
- Any outcome arising from missing or inaccurate data is entirely the user's responsibility.
5 · Limitation of liability
Purchase and consumption decisions are entirely yours. Reading the package label is essential.
No liability whatsoever for damages caused by data errors, service outages, or device issues.
Features may vary based on iOS version, device compatibility, camera permission, and internet connectivity.
The application is provided "as is." No warranty is given for fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation.
6 · Intellectual property
The application name, logo, mascot artwork, interface design, and scoring algorithm are property of Appnor. Open-source components (SwiftUI, Firebase SDK, the Open Food Facts dataset) are governed by their respective licenses. You may not use the Nebu brand or mascots in your own application without written permission.
No text, image, or data you add via the app becomes Appnor property.
7 · Prohibited use
The following are not permitted while using Nebu:
- Exploiting system resources with automated tools or hammering the API.
- Reverse-engineering, re-compiling, or deriving source from the app.
- Attempting unauthorized access to another person's account.
- Using the service to produce illegal, deceptive, or harmful content.
- Generating fake traffic designed to bypass security features.
Detected abuse may result in indefinite account suspension and does not waive any legal remedy.
8 · Third-party services
The app integrates with third-party services. Those services' own terms apply, and Appnor makes no guarantee about their continuity, content, or accuracy.
- Apple — iOS platform, Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution.
- Google Firebase — Authentication.
- Google Sign-In — Google account sign-in flow.
- Open Food Facts — product data (ODbL licensed).
9 · Termination
You can delete the app at any time and close your account at any time via "Delete Account." Doing so permanently removes your Firebase account record and all local data — this is irreversible.
Appnor may also terminate service, with or without prior notice when security demands it, in cases of serious breach of these terms.
10 · Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes are announced in-app; minor corrections only change the "Last updated" date. If you do not accept the updated terms, you must stop using the app.
11 · Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Disputes are resolved before the Istanbul Central Courts and Enforcement Offices. Rights granted to you by consumer protection legislation are not waived.
